When do the next classes start?
The next Plus class will start on February 13, 2012 The next Challenge classes will start in Fall of 2012 We may start a new Advanced Class in Spring of 2012 if there are enough students. If you are currently dancing Plus level, let us know if you would like to start Advanced level this Spring. Talk with Brad, Danny, Sherry, or Wayne. Otherwise the next Advanced Class will start in Fall of 2012. |

About our classes...
Our classes are held on Monday and Tuesday nights. Hotlanta Squares is proud to offer classes at the Mainstream through Challenge-1 levels, all of which follow Callerlab's standardized dance programs. Visit Callerlab's website (www.callerlab.org) for a complete list of calls and definitions for each dance program. New students are allowed to join up to three weeks into the start of a new class. After that period, enrollment is closed to ensure that students can make steady progress through the call list for each level. Mainstream (beginner) classes are taught twice a year starting in January and August, and last about 16 weeks. Plus-level classes are also taught twice a year beginning in January and August.Advanced and Challenge-1 classes are taught once each year, beginning in August. Hotlanta Squares is one of only a few clubs, gay or straight, in the Atlanta area that teach Advanced and Challenge level classes. This year we usually have about 3 squares for Challenge classes, and 5 for Advanced. We welcome all and are happy to be a significant contributor to the tradition of square dancing in the Southeast.

About our dances...
Our dances - usually on Saturday nights - give members and students a chance to dance to guest callers and practice what they've learned in class. Dances are open to non-members and visitors. Non-members and visiting dancers are required to have completed the appropriate Callerlab-based course for the level that they plan to dance. Non-dancers are always welcome. Non-dancers can observe, interact with club dancers and learn about the club and square dancing to see if they want to join the next series of classes.

About Square Dance Fly-Ins...
Square dance clubs all over the US and Canada sponsor multi-day events (usually 3 days) called fly-ins throughout the year. The Hotlanta Squares fly-in for 2012 will be held on March 16-18 at Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown, formerly known as Decatur Hotel and Conference Center.
