Puddletown Squares begins an Advanced class on June 13 taught by caller Raleigh Wieand. The class will meet Friday's at Tibbetts Methodist church in West Seattle from 7 to 9pm each week.
We will be teaching Advanced in 30 weeks. This is a little bit faster than Callerlab recommends, so if your Plus is a little spotty, you may want to wait till our next class. That said, Advanced is not a lot harder than Plus, there is just a lot more of it!
Lessons cost $150* and include a years club membership and level bar.

Pretty good. Not perfect (I'm not sure that is possible!) but you should be pretty comfortable sashayed and not rely to heavily on the other dancers to know where to go. That said, if you are pretty strong in the standard positions and are willing to study the calls in between classes, you will probably do just fine. On the other hand, if you consistently find yourself in a different square when you "Spin Chain and Exchange the Gears" you may want to consider waiting till our next class.
You are certainly welcome too, but it is not required. It is most important that you wear something comfortable to dance in. Also the location we will be dancing in is linoleum over concrete, so good shoes, preferably with soles that will slide, are a must.
Not at all. Singles are always welcome! There is always someone to dance with at Puddletown!
Absolutely, kids from the teen groups are more than welcome. The only downside is that they will probably learn it faster than the rest of us!
