BALLOON FIESTA
Join us for a wonderful bone-weary sleepless weekend of dancing, partying and Saturday morning tripping to see over 900 hot air balloons take to the air. We're excited to have Vic Ceder visiting us as our featured caller. The dancing will be great and the balloons will be unforgettable, too!
Alert! Alert! Here's what you get in Albuquerque
Chase the Chile gives you the following amenities for your registration:
- A sumptuous potluck dinner on Friday night.
- A banquet on Saturday night.
- Refreshments on Sunday.
- We make every attempt to provide housing with club members during your stay provided you let us know prior to the deadline (Aug. 30, 2008).
- We provide transportation to and from the Albuquerque Airport and all events for those without cars.
- You can also participate in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta with over 900 hot air balloons in mass ascension (for a fee). Lift-off is at dawn on Saturday morning, which means you get up before dawn to be there on time; we dance at the field after the balloons have taken off.
What more could one ask?
So, come and join us for Chase the Chile 2008!
A Few Words About Housing and Transportation:
It's hard to find hotel rooms in Albuquerque during Balloon Fiesta, so the Wilde Bunch makes every effort to provide housing for our guests. If you would like to stay with one of us, please fill out the housing request on the registration form (please indicate a housing request by Aug. 30, 2008).
Because the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is such a popular event, we can't pre-book rooms in local hotels for this weekend; we suggest that you check with the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau to see what's available. The Albuquerque Square Dance Center is located near several chain motels, many within walking distance: La Quinta Inn NW (formally the Baymont Inn & Suites) and Hampton Inn are on the same block as ASDC, Crossland Economy Studios is south of ASDC, La Quinta Inn North (the original La Quinta!), and Quality Inn are on the opposite side of interstate 25. The Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid (a real hotel) is north of ASDC - not quite walkable.
Also, if you're planning to rent a car, you need to make a reservation now!
